TRIAL OF MOTHER
Publican Gives Evidence (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) FRANKFURT (West Germany), June 26. A witness told a court in Frankfurt that he turned a woman out of his beer house because he could not stand the sight of her deformed son. a thalidomide baby. He was giving evidence at the trial of Helga Sidcrow and her friend, Dr. Petersen. The two women are charged with manslaughter of Siderow’s son, Alexander, aged two.
The publican, Gerhard Sauer, said that he turned Siderow out of his premises on the eve of the alleged killing “because the sight of the child was upsetting me.” Dr. Petersen said in court rhat she gave the boy a lethal injection on September 23, 1963, at the mother’s request She also gave the boy an antidote when Siderow asked her to do so, but it was too late.
Out Of Hospital.—The New Zealand-born radio and television entertainer, Eric Baume, has been discharged from Sydney Hospital.—Sydney, June 26.
