Presentation To Padre

More than 65 former members of the 20th Battalion and Armoured Regiment and their wives attended a function on Saturday evening to mark the retirement of the battalion’s former padre (the Rev. D. Spence). Mr Spence, who was with the 20th battalion throughout the Middle East campaign, was Presbyterian minister at Moraington, Dunedin, after the war, and since his retirement has moved to Lower Hutt Mr and Mrs Spence flew to Christchurch for the function.

The patron of the battalion (Brigadier J. T. Burrows) made a presentation to Mr and Mrs Spence on behalf of the battalion.
