OPPOSITION EXPECTED
U.K. Plan To Sell Bombs
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright)
LONDON, June 23. Britain has offered to sell bombs and rockets to the United States, presumably without restrictions about their use in Vietnam, an official said last night. “The whole question is still under discussion between Britain and the United States,” he said.
If the sale went through—and he said the question at the moment was purely hypothetical—Britain would presumably not make any restrictions against use of the weapons in Vietnam.
It was said that any such deal would provoke angry opposition from Left-wing members of the Labour Party, who oppose the sale of British weapons to any country.
