F. J. FODOR TRIUMPHS
Intermediate Chess Title F. J. Fodor won the intermediate championship tournament of the Canterbury Chess Club with the maximum of 10 points, in his first competition year with the club. Fodor is a former member of the Hutt Valley Chess Club. In the senior championship, A. J. Nyman leads the club and national schoolboy champion, B. A. Anderson, six points to five; but whereas Anderson has not made any concessions, Nyman has lost one game. Recent results are:— Senior. —Nyman 1, W. Bereza 0; Bereza 8, Nyman 1. Intermediate.—C. P.
