(N.Z. Pref Association) DUNEDIN, June 21. Copper deposits in the Waitahuna area will be investigated by a Wellington-based company. Mineral Industries, Ltd. The company has applied to the Cromwell Warden's Court for a 1000-acre prospecting licence and the application will be heard on July 12. Copper was first discovered in the bed of the Waitahuna river in 1875 and a 70ft exploratory shaft was sunk beside the river.
