CAR REPAIRS SUIT

Negligent workmanship by Gloucester Motors, Ltd., in repairing the transmission of his car had led to a repair bill for £206 10s from another firm to put faults right, alleged Walter Ritchie Carston, a journalist (Mr A. Hearn), in a claim for this amount in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Mr H. J. Evans, S.M., w’as on the Bench.

Gloucester Motors (Mr A. D. Holland) denied the allegation, the Magistrate reserving decision after a threehour nearing. Carston, who gave evidence of buying the car in December. 1964, from Riccarton Car Sales, Ltd., for £695, denied a suggestion by Mr Holland that he had merely wanted “something done to the car to fix it up,” so that he could aeil it again.
