PARLIAMENT BUILDING
Plan For New South Wall (N.Z. Press Association! WELLINGTON, June 22. The Special Committee on Parliament Buildings met today to discuss a further report on plans for the south wall of the buildings. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said the rebuilding of the wall—which faces the wooden block—was essential before work on the new Parliament Building could begin. He said the Acting Government Architect (Mr F. D. Stewart) today outlined changes in the plans to meet a number of points raised by the committee at its last meeting in March. The committee was also given a full description of the work in stage one of the south wall project In broad terms this involved the laying of the foundation for the new south wall in the area between the wooden building and the present legislative building. This would require some demolition work and the pro- ' vision of a temporary post office for Parliament Buildings.
