Buffet Lunch Demonstrated

A demonstration buffet lunch featuring meats, appetisers, salads, home-made bread or rolls, and sweets, was a feature of the 25th birthday party of the Avonhead branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Fanners.

Kaituna, Ouruhia, New Brighton, and Harewood branches presented the demonstration and members from other branches contributed individual dishes. Mrs Gerald Turner acted as critic and demonstrator, emphasising greater variety in salads. Advice was also given on table setting, choice pf flowers, linen and china, and suggestions for easier serving. A local firm showed a wide variety of cooking aids and gadgets which could be used in adventurous cooking. On behalf of the provincial president, Mrs R. V. Chapman expressed congratulations to the entrants and good wishes to the branch.
