Sculpture Gift
A Featherston sheep farmer, Mr D. H. S. Riddiford, has given a Margaret Butler sculpture to the Masterton Arts Centre. The sculpture, of a girl, is one of two casts made in England from the original, which Mr Riddiford owns. The other cast has been given to the National Art Gallery in Wellington. The director of the gallery, Mr S. B. Maclennan, describes the work as one of Miss Butler’s finest. “The modelling of the head is particularly sensitive,” he says.
