RIDER HURT IN FALL

CN.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE. The Victortan jockey, M. Hindson, was taken to hospital after a five-horse tall tn the Winter Handicap at Yarra Glen yesterday. Hindson, aged 21, suffered a fractured skull and fractures of the right collar-bone and right leg. His condition last night was reported to be ‘•fair.” Hindson’s mount, Affraid, fell in a packed field just before the home turn. The favourite. Swindler, The Bailiff, Laurentian and Ambermaid came down in quick succession over the top of him.

The other jockeys, G. Bamford, J. Courtney, A. Burton and G. Henson escaped Injury. Laurentian was badly injured in the fall and was later destroyed.
