WHISTLING WILLIE

Purchase By Ascot Stud

The English-bred horse Whistling Willie, which was at the Glentruin Stud of the late Mr A. Chisholm jun., last season has been secured by the Ascot Stud of Mr G. R. Shirley and G. Thomas, at Invercargill. He will join the imported horses Talismano, Great Western and Zarabanda. Whistling Willie stood his first stud season at Otautau last spring. He is the first son of the brilliant English sprinter and successful sire Whistler to be brought to Southland.

Whistling Willie not only represents the brilliant speed line founded by his sire (a son of Panorama) but on his dam’s side he is closely related to Foxbridge and Gold Nib, two sires who made a name for themselves in this country.
