AIRPORT SERVICE
Information Centre
A tourist information centre will be opened at Christchurch International Airport next Monday. The Canterbury Public Relations Officer (Mr C. N. Todd) said that the centre will meet all overseas aircraft arriving at the airport, and will be staffed by the Canterbury Pub'ic Relations Office. The centre will provide booklets and pamphlets about Canterbury and the South Island in particular, and other New Zealand tourist attractions.
The work will be done by the Public Relations Office in conjunction with the Airport Authority, and, besides providing literature, the centre will also handle urgent inquiries, such as those from elderly people who on arrival have difficulties with transport or contacting relatives or friends, Mr Todd said.
