Bible Lessons In Schools
Sir, —In view of the recent newspaper correspondence regarding Bible teaching in our school, I would like to state publicly that my school committee has given approval to religious instruction being conducted in the school in accordance with the requirements of the Education Act, and in addition approves of the form of the school assembly organised by the headmaster.—Yours, etc., H. B. SIM, Chairman; Casebrook Intermediate School. June 7, 1966,
Sir, —It amazes me that people who are concerned about the moral welfare of their children at a time when
wrongdoing is increasing should want to suppress the very thing that might be a help and blessing to them: the religion of Jesus Christ. School devotions will never create religious cranks. But they may indicate to the children where help can be found for the problems and difficulties that beset their way. It seems that this generation is keeping somewhat decent on the religious and moral principles they were taught as children. But what are they passing on to help their own children?— Yours, etc., WATCH YOUR STEP. June 8, 1966.
