Ferry Road

Sir, —I read with Interest the letter regarding the subdivision in Ferry road by the roundabout. Far from detracting from its surroundings, 1 think it will help to enchance the approach to the city, but 1 would suggest, most emphatically, that the City Council do something about condemning the very dilapidated property opposite, which is a definite Mot on the landscape. It is seen from all angles and is certainly a disgrace to the owners, who make no attempt to improve the appearance.—Yours, etc., TWO-STOREYED EYESORE. May 30, 1966.

[The Town Clerk of Christchurch (Mr C. S. Bowie) replies: “This property has recently been purchased by the City Council and the house is likely to be demolished in the near future.”]
