TOLL CALL DELAYS
Elimination ‘Soon’ (N.Z. Press Association i WELLINGTON, June 7. Toll call delays would almost disappear when the Christchurch-Dunedin section of the South Island microwave link opened in six weeks, a Post Office official said today. The Consumer Institute recently reported that the average delay in toll calls was 30 minutes.
Most delays were between the North and* South Islands, said the official. The Wellington - Christchurch section of the link, completed recently, had ended these delays, he said. The “no delay” service would be available from Whangarei to Dunedin soon, he said.
