Mackenzie’s Best In U.S.

The Canterbury sprinter, D. W. Mackenzie, recorded his best time for 220 yards since arriving in America when he recently won a race over this distance in 21.5 sec at Los Angeles. This was .2sec inside his Canterbury record and threetenths of a second outside the New Zealand best time, held jointly by M. L. Rae and D.R. Batten. _

He has only once recorded a faster time for the distance. That was in 1964 when he won the New Zealand title with a wind assisted 21.2 sec.
