Lloyd’s New Fears , (Special Crspdt. NZPA) LONDON, May 11. Mounting fear that the San Francisco area is overdue for another major earthquake has spread to the offices of Lloyd’s of London which writes most of the disaster and liability insurance on government projects in San Francisco, says the “Guardian.” The East Bay Municipal Utility District, which pipes water to more than one million residents across the bay from San Francisco, has disclosed that Lloyd’s attempted to cancel its insurance earlier this year. The company extended coverage on a month-to-month basis until, after a week of negotiations in London, a tentative new agreement was reached under which Lloyd’s will renew the district’s insurance for three years but at a greatly increased premium.
