ANZAC DAY FILMS
Approval By Council The screening of films in the main Christchurch cinemas from 1 p.m. on Anzac Day was approved by the City Council last evening. The major theatre organisations which applied for the right to screen said that all work would be on a voluntarybasis and staff would receive the special penal rates applicable under their awards. The council also approved the usual evening concert by the Australian Imperial Forces Association and an evening performance by the Repertory Theatre Society.
