Cricket Tour By India In 1968
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. There was a distinct possibility that the Indian ericket team would tour New Zealand in 1968, said Mr J. G. Leggat, the chairman, at last evening’s meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council.
During a discussion on the possibility of Fiji touring New Zealand in 1968, Mr L.
J. Castle (Wellington) said that he understood India might tour in that season. “I think it would be safe to say that the prospect of India coining to New Zealand in 1968 after playing in Australia is a near certainty,” said Mr Leggat. The council later decided
to form a draft itinerary for a five-week tour by Fiji in the 1967-68 season.
