Esperanto

Sir, —Recently you printed a letter of mine about my personal use of Esperanto as a means of international communication. Your readers may be interested to know that the Education Secretariat of the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, used two of its television channels for the teaching of Esperanto. Channel 2 had daily lessons of 25 minutes and Channel 5 had lessons on Saturday afternoons, and Sunday mornings. The response from viewers has been so great that the courses will be continued into further sessions. The fact that I received this information from an Esperanto magazine published in Japan is a further indication of the truly international nature of the language.—Yours, etc., . C. H. BROWN. March 9, 1966.
