“Waste Of Time”

The recent Municipal Association conference in Auckland amounted to a terrific waste of time, the Mayor of Paeroa (Mr L. J. Shaw) said at a borough council meeting. He said the three Cabinet Ministers who addressed the conference were three too many. “What was said was ridiculous and some of the questions asked were ridiculous,” said Mr Shaw. “I don’t think we gained anything from the addresses. I thought it was a terrific waste of time. The three Ministers came to tell us what we knew and what we would get and that was nothing, A lot of people went to sleep during the conference, including some of the official party.” The Town Clerk (Mr I. D. Pariane) said remits were poor in quality.
