Wood Pigeons
Wood pigeons have greatly increased in numbers in the Little River area, according to a fanner there. He said he had counted at least 12 pigeons in one patch of bush, and attributed the rise in numbers to a better-than-aver-'age crop of ngaio berries. The : farmer added that a lone 'white heron, which lived for many years on Lake Forsyth, had disappeared.
