Ashburton Electorate
Sir,—The National Party should select a candidate for Ashburton who has given community service within the electorate, who lives in and is in close touch with its people, and who has served his country overseas. The candidate must represent all the people, and not just a party. You report Mr J. W. Davidson, of Ashburton, as saying: “The Ashburton electorate has given the National Government a substantial majority for a long time now. and as a result the electorate has been neglected in all fields, especially in educational requirements.” The people from Ohau to Ashburton want a man who will take a special interest in them, not in party politics.—Yours, etc., PROGRESS.
