TRAFFIC PLAN

Debate On Monday ! Professor C. Buchanan’s rci port on the master transport I plan for Christchurch, will be i considered by the City Council on Monday evening; but there might be a demand for a special meeting for full consideration.

The city development committee of the council met last evening and all councillors were invited to hear the City Engineer (Mr P. G. Scoular) and other technical officers give their views on the consultants’ report.

The chairman of the committee (Cr. A. R. Guthrey) said debate had not been invited because he, and the committee, wanted all the discussion to be open to the public. The technical reports were given so that councillors would be better acquainted with details.
