DROWNINGS IN N.Z.
Increase Last Month (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 8. Sixteen people were drowned in New Zealand last month, twice as many as in February, 1965. The most significant increases were in the five to 10 and 31 to 40 age groups. Both increased by three. Seven of the deaths were in rivers and streams, three in boating accidents, four in open seas or at beaches and one each in a lake, an excavation hole, a harbour, swimming baths and dam. The February drownings increased the April 1, 1965February 28, 1966 total to 130.
