Robin Dundee Fit For Match Race

“The Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Robin Dundee attracted considerable attention when she worked freelegged over a mile and a half at the Manawatu Raceway yesterday morning. She is preparing for her mile and a quarter clash with Gipsy Hanover in a special match race at the Palmerston North Trotting Club’s equalisator meeting tomorrow night. Robin Dundee will go on to Auckland at the end of the week. She will race in a free-for-all on the second night of the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting, which

opens on Saturday. After jogging five circuits Robin Dundee started quickly from the mile and a half. She kept up a solid pace from the start, and P. Steedman let her really stretch out over the last hlaf-mile. The full distance took the mare 3min 19sec, the last half in lmin 3sec. It was good work, but Robin Dundee appeared to need it. She blew hard after. On the first night of the recent Wellington meeting Robin Dundee was second in the Wellington Cup. a nose in front of Gipsy Hanover. On the second night she won easily, with Gipsy Hanover in second place after making most of the pace.
