GYMNASIUM FUND
Pupils Harvest Beans Proceeds from the harvesting of two acres of beans and one acre of potatoes would add several hundred pounds to the Hillmorton High School gymnasium building fund, the principal (Mr P. W. Murdoch) told the monthly meeting of the school’s board of governors. The scheme had been organised by the Parent Teacher Association, and the land had been lent to the school. Mr Murdoch said. The barvesting of the bean crop is being carried out by classes on a roster system. The crop is being grown for a frozen food company, and already four tons had been picked, with more to come.
