£3½m. FOR WHARF

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 8. The new Tasman wharf project, including the roll-on roll-off shipping berth, will cost £3J million, the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board (Mr R. C. F. Savory) announced today. The board will float a loan on Thursday for £330,000 to finance the first stage of the Tasman project. The loan will also help to finance the new £350,000 off-wharf cargo storage shed under construction. The roll-on, roll-off facilities, planned to be ready by July, 1967, will cost £650,000. This will coincide with the delivery of a roll-on, roll-off ship to" be built for the Union Steam Ship Company, Ltd. The whole Tasman wharf project is due to bo completed hr 1970.
