Church Corner Control Plan

The Paparua County Council will seek the immediate introduction of a traffic control scheme at Church Corner. The traffic officer (Mr J. E. Hume) told the council last night that peak periods brought delays at the corner and suggested that the council consider the implementation of a traffic channelling scheme designed by the Ministry of Works. The National Roads Board had agreed in 1962 to the scheme. The council agreed to proceed with it forthwith and to ask the Transport Department to give more attention to the area while the channels were being marked out.

House Burgled.—The theft of two wallets and contents, worth £29 in all, from a house in Knowles street was reported to the police yesterday.
