(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright i LONG BEACH. New Zealand’s Geoffrev Pyne clipped almost 18 seconds off the meet record in the three-mile at the Long Beach Relays on Saturday. Pyne, now attending U.C.L.A., was clocked in 13min 34.65ec, erasing the 13min 52.45ec set by Jeff Fishback of the Santa Clara Valley youth village two years ago. Some 1500 athletes competed in 84 events on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Long Beach meet.
