Sir, These excellent articles are widely read and are considered by readers to be authoritative. But surely an error has crept into today’s story of Magellan? I am sure he did not round Cape Horn as stated, but entered the Pacific by way of the notorious straits which bear his name.—Yours, etc., T.W.S. March 1, 1966.
