Disqualified For Year

(N.Z. Press Association) MELBOURNE. A Victorian jockey, I. Saunders, and a Sydney trainer. J. O’Connor, have been disqualified for 12 months for improper practice over the running of Renegado at Cranbourne on February 23. The stewards yesterday resumed an inquiry into Renegade’s running in the Chicquita two-year-old. Mr K. Cush, part-owner, said he had been exonerated. Both Saunders and O’Connor said they would appeal against the decision.
