RHODESIA POLICY

Methodist Statement The following statement on . its attitude to Rhodesia has been forwarded to the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) by the president of the Methodist Churich of New Zealand (tile Rev. A. R. Witheford). “While recognising that there appears to be no reasonable alternative to the application of sanctions at the present stage of relationships with the de facto government of Rhodesia, we assure the New Zealand Prime Minister and Government of our moral and prayerful support in all endeavours to assist the British Government and other Commonwealth governments by keeping open negotiations as being the only means by which finally this tragic situation can be resolved.”
