Butter For Japan
W.Z, Press Association) WELLINGTON, Fetruary 4. The largest order from Japan for dairy produce has come hard on the arrival of two officials from the Livestock Industry Promotion Corporation in that country.
A spokesman for the Dairy Board said today that the order was for 300 tons of butter and 200 of milk powder. This was the largest butter order yet received from the Japanese and it was only the second time in the last four years that tenders had been called for butter outside Japan. The two officials of the corporation, Messrs K. Suga and K. Geijo, are now in Christchurch, and will leave New Zealand tomorrow morning after a week’s exhaustive survey of the dairy industry.
