The Australian tennis selectors yesterday surprised by omitting the young Sydney player, John Cottrill, from the official team to tour overseas this year. The team will be A. Roche, W. Bowry, O. Davidson, R. Ruffels, Miss K. Melville, and Miss K. Krantzcke.
Ruffels is a surprise inclusion ahead of Cottrill, who was a member of the Australian Davis Cup squad last month.
R. Emerson, F. Stolle, and J. Newcombe will be touring privately.
