FINE LEVIN TRIAL

Jetmate Runs Well "The Press” Special Service LEVIN. The brilliant Jetmate galloped into calculations for the Telegraph Handicap at Trentham on Saturday with a fine semi-final trial at Levin yesterday. Work was done close to the rails on the course proper, on the plough and on the sand. The ground was hard and fast. Jetmate (R. J. Skelton) ran half a mile alone in 46$sec, the final three furlongs in 34|sec. It was a fine trial and he did not appear pushed at any stage. Jetmate has won at his last two starts so has the form background to win the Telegraph Handicap at Trentham. He is nicely placed with 8-1. Prince Hagen, another Telegraph Handicap candidate, ran soundly over half a mile in 50 2-ssec, the final three furlongs in 38 2-ssec. Prince Hagen won the open sprint at Marton on Saturday and appears to be improving.
