Auckland Secondary Schools scored 171 runs for four wickets in 105 minutes to beat the touring Geelong College cricket team at Eden Park, Auckland, yesterday. Auckland was given the chance of winning by a sporting declaration by Geelong, which left Auckland 120 minutes in which to score 170.

Details. —Geelong College, 180 and 145 for six wickets declared (P. Marshall 80; W. Moran three for 30, T. Moorehead three for 30). Auckland Schools, 156 (D. Mclntyre 22, R. McGregor 21; R. O’Byrne three for 34) and 171 for four wickets (D. Kearney 54 not out, P. Recordon 44, R. Alabaster 22).
