Rolls This Year (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 17. About 602,000 children will return to school on February 2. The Education Department today was unable to say whether there would be enough teachers to go around. A department official said teaching appointments were made by each district education board. Returns are not likely to be made to the department before March. It is estimated that 20,000 children will enter school for the first time in February. The number of children returning to primary schools is expected to be about 420,000. Primary school children entering secondary schools for the first time will number about 52,000. The department estimates that 110,000 will return to secondary schools.
