SATURDAY (Before Messrs O. C. Mitchell and A. W. Morland, Justices of the Peace.) REMANDED Errol Rex Howie, aged 18, unemployed, was remanded on bail to January 20 on a charge of obstructing a footpath in Cathedral square on January 14. Michael William Gray, aged 21, a lineman, was also remanded on bail till January 20 when he appeared on a charge of olstructing a footpath in Cathedral square on January 14. On a joint charge of stealing three gallons of petrol from Frederick Ernest Billington on January 15, Noel Te Ara Marsh, aged 18, a salesman, Dennis Raymond Neylon, aged 17, an apprentice carpenter and Bruce Alexander Patterson, aged 17, unemployed, were all remanded on bail till January 20. Joseph Anthony Pepne, aged 27. a trimmer, and Pera Tutoko Herewini, aged 29, a cutter were each charged with assaulting Nicholas Ronald Tiki on January 14. Each was remanded on bail till January 20.
Joseph Pohara Pollet, aged 29, a glass worker, was remanded till January 20 when he appeared on a charge of theft of a guitar and a wristlet watch from Kenneth George Thomas between November 25 and 30, 1965. John Sealey, aged 20, a snray painter, appeared on a charge of driving a motor van on the Christchurch-Lyttelton tunnel road on January 14 while under the influence of drink or drugs. He was remanded till January 20, bail being allowed. Richard Keith Young, aged 21, a salesman, appeared on a charge of encouraging Michael William Gray to resist a police constable in the execution of his duty on January 14. He was remanded on bail till January 20. Colin Tihi, aged 19, a workman, appeared on a charge of assaulting James Arthur Hill on January-14. He was remanded on bail till January 20.
Hector Anthony Martin, aged 18, a workman, appeared on a charge of obtaining credit by fraud in incurring a debt of £3 10s for taxi hire. He was remanded on bail till January 20. Barbara Carol- Lewis, aged 19. a wardsmaid, was charged with being idle and disorderly. She was remanded in custody till today. John Ferguson, aged 32, an unemployed workman, appeared on a charge of theft on January 14 of a transistor radio valued at £25. He was remanded in custody till January 20.
