BILL OWED SINCE 1954

Director In Court (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. January 13. A 12-year-old hotel bill for £33 is likely to be paid soon. A company director, Edgar George Mcßae, who was arrested on his return from the United States, told Mr L. G. H. Sinclair, S.M., today that he wanted to make restitution. He admitted a charge of obtaining £33 18s 2d credit by fraud in 1954. Sergeant E. R. Hutchinson said Mcßae had left a Helensville hotel without paying for his lodging, and then travelled to the United States. Mcßae told the Magistrate he had then been in financial and marital difficulties “Since then I have straightened my affairs out and become quite successful.” The Magistrate, remanding Mcßae to January 20, said “If you have paid the money by the expiration of the remand, we will then discuss how the matter can be disposed of."
