TASMANIAN VISIT

Young Fanner From N.Z. Mr A. W. McLachlan, of Kaukapakapa, near Helensville, who was selected by the New Zealand Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs to visit Tasmania this year under the sponsorship of the Bank of New Zealand left yesterday for Hobart. During his stay in Tasmania he will be billited by members of the Tasmanian Junior Farmers’ Organisation. Mr McLachlan, who is 20. has been an active member of the Kaupakapaka Young Farmers’ Club for the last five years, and is its secre-tary-treasurer, and delegate to the district committee. The Bank of New Zealand sponsors the visits of two young farmers to Australia each year to enable them to study farming techniques and farm youth organisations.
