Unique Now 150 Ahead (N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI. With another win (its third in four races) and a second in yesterday’s races, the Canterbury yacht, Unique, has gained an almost unbeatable lead in the Leander Trophy R class yachting championship. Sailed by the Cooke brothers, Unique, after four races, is 150 points ahead of the Northland boat, Shoulao. There was a close finish to the morning race, Shoulao crossing the line first, ahead of Unique, with several other

boats just behind. However, Unique was an easy winner, by 3min lOsec, of the afternoon race. Results:— Third Race.—Shouloa (Northland) 1, Unique (Canterbury) 2, Repeat (Auckland) 3, Altezza 'Wellington) 4, Sparkle (Auckland) 5, Decision (Canterbury) 6 Cosmos (Wellington) 7, Voodoo (Wellington) 8, Wisk (Timaru) 9, Shindig (Northland) 10. Fourth Race.—Unique 1. Repeat 2. Decision 3, Shindig 4, Shouloa 5, Cosmos 6, Voodoo 7. Sparkle 8, Rebel (Northland) 9 Naiad (Canterbury) 10. Leading boats after four races: Unique 380, Shoulao 230. Repeat 202.435, Decision 189.304, Voodoo 169.868, Sparkle 169.029.
