Six Hurt On Roads
When a car struck the concrete median strip on the Sockburn overbridge about 10.45 p.m. on Thursday, a passenger, Allister Francis McDonald, of 16 Wayside place, suffered moderately serious injuries. He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital where his condition last night was comfortable. Police want to hear from any person who saw the accident. When two cars collided at the intersection of Montreal street and Moorhouse avenue about 11.40 a.m. yesterday a passenger, Mrs A. Johns, of 14 Ashby place, suffered minor injuries. She was treated at Christchurch Hospital and discharged. A boy who fell from his cycle outside his home in Brougham street about 3.45 p.m. yesterday suffered head and leg injuries. He is Michael Veitch, son of Mr G. L. Veitch, of 185 Brougham street. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital where his condition last evening was satisfactory. When a power-cycle and a car collided outside 655 Worcester street about 6.33 p.m. yesterday, the power-cyclist, George A. Smith, of 60 Lawrence street, suffered head injuries, and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital where his condition last evening was comfortable. When a car and a cycle collided in Opawa road, opposite the Opawa Post Office, about 5.10 p.m. yesterday, Leo Van Klink, aged 10, son of Mr W. Van Klink, of 47 Dampder street, suffered leg injuries. He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital where his condition last evening was satisfactory. When two cars collided at the corner of Madras str'et and Bealey avenue about 8-10 p.m. yesterday, a passenger, Miss Sandra Perry, of 132 Heaton street, suffered minor head injuries. She was treated at Christchurch Hospital and discharged.
