Fish-Plates On Line

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 13. The driver of an electric unit stopped his train just before it ran over some fishplates placed on the line between Woburn and Ava in the Hutt Valley tonight. A number of the plates, which hold the track to the sleepers, were laid across the line about 7.30 p.m.

The police are investigating. They believe children put the plates on the rails.
