N.Z. Seeking Ways To Aid Refugees

(Neto Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 13. The principal of the Central Institute of Technology, Petone, Mr E. W. Mills, has left for Vietnam to inquire into the refugee problem.

The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said today that Mr Mills would report to the Gover'ment and relief organisations in New Zealand on the types of assistance most needed.

He would also report on any way in which it might be possible for New Zealand to make some relief contribution.

Mr Mills will spend about three weeks in Vietnam. “The plight of the refugees in Vietnam is a matter of great concern to peace-loving people the world over,” said Mr Holyoake. “Now that all hopes are fastened on the many efforts being made to achieve a peaceful settlement of the war in Vietnam, it is only proper that our attention should be directed to the greater relief and rehabilita-

tion measures for the welfare of the Vietnamese people that could be carried out under more settled conditions.”
