Glass Hidden In Sand
'N Z Press Association) AUCKLAND. January 13. Broken bottles and window glass has been hidden in the sand-filled jumping pit at the North Shore Athletic Club’s new track at Onewa Domain, Takapuna, three times in the last three weeks. Only the sun glinting on jagged edges has prevented serious injury to athletes. “It’s a completely senseless and dangerous thing to do." said the president of the Takapuna Athletic Club, Mr L. D. Hallett
"The pit is mainly used by boys, and anyone jumping on to the glass could be killed.” The police have been informed.
