Trapping Of Cats

Sir, —The Heathcote county boundary borders my fence line, and I have no hesitation in supporting “Felina.” From past experience I know what steel traps can do. Until recently my cats have more than earned their keep in keeping down rabbits over that fence. I see Cr. Le Compte does not favour the use of these traps near residential property. I am quite conversant with the market gardening problem, and it can be solved without resort to cruelty, and certainly without half-fed cats.—Yours, etc., F. CARPENTER, Member S.P.C.A. (N.Z.) and A.P.S., U.K. January 12, 1966.
