VICKERS (AUST.)
Maiden Div. Being Paid (N 7.. Press Assn.—i Copyright) MELBOURNE. Jan. 12. Vickers Australian, Ltd., formed last April to take over the local interests of the United Kingdom engineering group, earned a group net profit of £424,754 in the year to October 31 last. This returned 14 per cent on paid capital of £3m and compared with the previous year’s profit of £392,109 when earning rate was 13.1 per cent. A maiden ordinary dividend of 4 per cent for the period from May 1 to October 31 will be paid on February 14 to shareholders registered on January 30.
Figures for the year were taken from the prospectus for the public issue and from the records of Vickers Ruwolt Pty., Ltd., and Vickers Hoskins Pty., Ltd., the group’s operating subsidiaries.
Gross trading profit increased by almost 10 per cent from £798,296 to £877.253.
At balance date, the value of orders on hand was £7 6m compared with £6m a year earlier, a nse of more than 25 per cent
