Boral Offshoot 1 s Profit Eases

Huddart Parker 'lndustries, Ltd., a subsidiary of Boral, Ltd., earned a profit of £262,794 in the year to June 30, compared with £481,234 in the previous year. The dividend, which as in 1964 absorbs all the profit, has been reduced accordingly. Most of the company’s income comprises dividends from subsidiary companies, which fell from £466.637 to £246,420 in the latest year. Because of this no tax provision was necessary.
The company has a capital ; of £2,375,000. including £500,000 in cumulative preference shares. A subsidiary, Heoburn Pty.,] Ltd., in which the Broken Hill Pty., Company Ltd., has a substantial interest, incurred a loss of £115,735 in the year) to June 30. The loss in the previous year was £83,225. Directors say in their report; that because of difficult trading conditions, dividend has been omitted.
Taubmans Buy Wholesaler (NZ. Ifress Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, Jan. 12., Taubmans Industries. Ltd., has acquired Alan King Pty., Ltd., and Alan King (Properties) Pty., Ltd., for an undis-! closed cash sum. The Alan King group is essentially a paint wholesaler operating two outlets in Syd-' ney. Its purchase by Taubmans, i a paint maker, represents this company s first acquisition of an independent paint whole-: sal er Taubmans has no retail: ■ stores in Australia. 1
