The former British champion. P. Goldstern, of New Zealand, finished eighth in the special slalom event of the British ski championships, which began yesterday. Another New Zealander, J. Summervaile, finished well down the field, in twenty-fifth place, while another of his countrymen, O. Cleardon, had a fall in the first run and did not finish. D. Borrodaiile, of Somerset, won the event after returning the best times of the 64 competitors for the two runs.
